Mixed Families and The Goths

Hi there, it's been a long time since I updated this Sims 2 blog, even though I'm writing it for my own enjoyment. I did play more of the games, so there are updates. I just didn't organise the snapshots back then, so I had to try and work out which order to put them all in. Which is hard because I hadn't played it for a couple of years, I think. Time goes so fast! 

Anyway, we'll start off with a little bit of story for Don Lothario and the Caliente sisters. Don and Nina (the red haired sister), play a very small part to begin with but I plan to do more with them later. I ended up following Dina's path of choice which meant she ended up moving into the Goth family. But more about that later. For now, let's see what became of Don. 

So here he is, the town Casanova, chilling in his hot tub and thinking about all the Sim ladies he wants to romance with. I don't usually like romance Sims because of how unfaithful they are and how much pain they cause other Sims by cheating on them. But he is what he is, so we'll just work with what we've got. He seems pretty happy in this snapshot, thinking about his dreams and plans.

Cassandra has of course noticed him too. It's hard not to in a small town like Pleasantview and he is very attractive by some people's standards.They seem to have met while out about the town on one of the community lots. Cassandra is a smart girl and loves to read, and Don probably likes magazines with pretty women in them. Don turns the heads of women wherever he goes it would seem.

Don of course, has noticed the two attractive young Caliente sisters in the town as well, and they don't seem to mind him either. Here he is making out with Dina. But does he love her? Not a chance. This appears to be Dina's room at the sister's house. 

Meanwhile on another day Don goes out for a run with her sister, Nina. She must be completely unaware that he made out with Dina. I suppose it doesn't really matter in this picture though, since they're just doing exercise to maintain their good looks. Looks like a nice day, which is usually always the case in the small town. It's only seasons are Spring and Summer.

And here's a startling snapshot in Don's memories; Bella Goth on his patio! I never knew the full story of what happened to her and why, until I watched a Sims 2 Lets' Play on Youtube a few days ago that explained it all. Whatever the reason she went over to Don's place to begin with, it was a bad idea to go there. She was either with Mortimer or married to him at the time. How scandalous of her to go visit the town Casanova! I'm sure Don was planning to seduce her and attempt more romantic activities with her. Luckily, I think the aliens got to her before he could. With that being said, there is a way to get her back but I didn't know it at the time of playing the Goth family so it hasn't happened. I don't know if it will later on. Still, the fact remains that Bella is either very naive and too trusting of Don, or she's not the faithful partner she pretends to be. Do we want her back or don't we?

Dina and Nina in the same hot tub with Don Lothario, probably both jealous of each other. Don is chatting away though, happy as a clam, perhaps regaling them with stories about himself. I think this must be at his house. Or maybe at their house. Actually, I forget. Looks like they're having quite the animated conversation. I bet Don is smooth talking and flirting with both of them. Now, the sisters seem to not like each other that much so maybe they both know that they like the same guy and that he's doing stuff with both of them. But I'm not sure. Perhaps it's a battle of sorts to see who can get the handsome man. Although Dina (blonde), loves Mortimer, well, she loves his money. So I think Nina has more of a chance to snag Don's attentions. But she'll never have his loyalty.

Don has eyes for every attractive woman in town, as well as his maid. But do you want to know something shocking? This is the same maid that slept with Daniel Pleasant! Kaylynn Langerak. She certainly gets around. I can't remember if she's also a romance Sim. But I think that she and Don suit each other pretty well. So I wasn't against letting them both have a little fun and fulfill some needs and wants. They deserve each other, in my opinion!

Kaylynn gives Don a friendly wave. She's likely had fun with Don before. She thinks he's pretty handsome and wouldn't mind hanging out after her work is done. The small house doesn't take her long to clean and soon she's asking if he wants to hang out. "Sure, that sounds great. I'll just finish my lunch first" Don agrees. He's not about to turn down an opportunity to romance another pretty Sim.

Don and Kaylynn get smoochy on the couch. It looks like Don has some workout equipment in the back room. I suppose he has to try hard to keep his figure and looks. They enjoy cuddling and making out together.

It doesn't take long for them to move things upstairs to Don's bedroom, which looks very exotic and passionate. I wonder how many other women he's brought into this room? Don asks if Kaylynn wants to cuddle and she of course answers yes! I think they both want some action.

Cuddling soon turned to something more heated, though I didn't take screenshots. And after Don woohoos with the maid, a car beeps outside. It's time for him to go to work! I'm surprised that he has a job but I suppose he has to pay the bills somehow. Yet, being in the medical career doesn't really seem to suit him. Maybe he's good with helping people and is a good doctor and that's why so many women like him. I dunno, he seems like a smarmy douchebag to me.

Don gets into his medical scrubs and he's off to work, leaving Kaylynn at the house alone. She eventually left as well. He has a carpool come and pick him up. I think he's feeling pretty pleased with himself at this moment.

When Don gets home that night, he invites Nina over. They greet with a rather enthusiastic kiss and embrace. I suppose this is how romance Sims relax and have fun. Nina however, does have feelings for him as well. She's happy to be over and getting his undivided attention. 

Don dips her back as he kisses her again, taking her breath away.  How did he get so good at that? Oh right; lots of practice!

Nina follows Don inside, who is back in his work clothes? Whoops, I think I've gotten these pics a bit mixed up. Maybe Nina and Don had two different rendezvous. 

They did enter the hot tub at his place at some point though. Don is clearly admiring Nina's figure in her bathing suit.  He looks eager and hopeful. This is going to be a good memory, he thinks.

It doesn't take long for things to get hot and steamy. Make out sessions commence.There's not really a lot more I can say about this. Except that Don's door in the background reminds me of a block of chocolate.

The two lovers woohoo together and Nina goes platinum at having one of her longtime wants granted. Finally! She's been waiting to do this with Don for ages. He gets a good chunk of aspiration points for doing the deed as well. Both of them are happy for different reasons. 

Don and Nina share a special memory together, the first time they woohooed with each other. I hope he gets that hot tub cleaned. Another excuse to invite Kaylynn back over, perhaps. Both Sims are satisfied for the time being. I think it might mean more to Nina than it does to Don, though.

Nina and Don cuddle on the bed in Don's room, surrounded by pictures of beautiful women, which is a little creepy. I think that's Bella Goth's picture on the far left but only Don knows who the other two are. He apparently has a thing for redheads.The pair might have woohooed again here but I didn't take more screenshots. 

Nina enjoys looking through the telescope on Don's balcony. Be careful, Nina, you might get kidnapped by aliens. Make a wish on that shooting star and hope it's not a comet! 

And that's as far as I got while playing Don Lothario in the town. I had plans for him involving Nina so I went into the Caliente household next to play with them a bit.

Let's go back to the beginning of the Caliente sisters' story. It's a short one, don't worry. Here's one of the memories I found in their photos. The red haired woman must be the twins' mother and their father must be the man wearing sunglasses. Or maybe not. I haven't done any research into the sisters' history but it probably explains a lot more on the Sims Wiki pages. I did discover one little gem about Dina, which is that she's an alien hybrid, supposedly. What?! That's crazy. I wonder if it will have any bearing on future generations if Dina shares her genes. Usually if someone's an alien hybrid they have green skin and black eyes. But Dina looks normal. Does that mean Nina is too? 

 

Looks like here are the girls with their mum. Nina and her mum seem to be getting along well, smiling and dancing, but Dina looks sad and seems as though she's been left out. Clearly these sisters have had a rocky relationship with each other from the very start. And where does Dina's blonde hair come from? 

Later in life, when the girls were grown up, Dina married a man. Not just any man, this man was Bella Goth's brother, Michael Bachelor, (or so I gather from Wiki). He must have been rich, since Dina wanted to marry someone with a lot of Simoleans. As for why Nina is crying, she could just be emotional, or maybe she also had feelings for him. As you can see though, Michael was already an elder when Dina married him.

Which is why he probably died not too long after marrying Dina, who's still a young adult. He didn't have any children with her and she kept his urn in the living room on a coffee table. I always wondered why that was there and who it was! Dina was reading about parenting, probably thinking about having children with Mortimer, who she has feelings for. Dina seems to have a thing for older men. Or maybe it's just that the Sims with lots of money all end up being elders by the time they have it. 

Dina and Nina have completely opposite personalities, even though they are twins. Nina is shy, serious and neat while Dina is outgoing, playful and a bit of a slob. No wonder they don't get along. As you can see, their wants are clearly shown when you look through their family memories. Dina wants to marry a rich Sim and Nina....wants to woohoo. That's not really a hard thing to do. I hope she has other aspirations besides that. I managed to fulfill both the girl's wishes through game play. But I'm not sure if that means they'll be happy in life.  

I forget why this one is in here and whether I took it, or it was already in the game. Nina's sleeping (so this is her room and Dina prefers the leopard print double bed in the red room). The burglar has snuck into the bedroom, and I think it must be Gordon King, from the criminal career, the same one that's friends with Dustin Broke. I'm not sure what he stole, maybe it's in Nina's memories somewhere.

To fulfill Dina's wishes to be married to Mortimer Goth one day, I invited him over and let romance things happen. Mortimer loves Dina and it's easy to see why; she's young, pretty and fit and she has an attractive physique. They kiss on the front lawn on the footpath, in full view of all the neighbors and townies. Dina's making it clear that this man is hers. It's a little bit gross that she's making out with an elder Sim. I know they say age doesn't matter when you're in love but still, it seems like it's going a bit far. I guess some Sims will do anything to get what they want. As to whether she's just after his money, or she actually does love him, it's hard to know. 

Dina invites Mortimer into the hot tub. I guess she and Nina own one as well as Don Lothario. It's raining but perhaps that only adds to the romantic location. Dina and Mortimer can relax in the warm water and watch the rain come down on the town. There's a few similar houses in this part of the neighborhood. 

Meanwhile downstairs on the lower level, Nina welcomes Don into her arms. She doesn't like what Dina is doing upstairs and thinks about her sister in distaste. Hopefully Don can take her mind off things. 

They have a basic lunch of meat sandwiches, the safest option to make when a Sim can't cook. Nina doesn't need any stressful fires in her life right now. Don and Nina chat amicably while Nina thinks over whether she wants to move in with Don or invite him to live with her. She knows Dina would be moving out soon to live with Mortimer Goth and even though she dislikes her, she doesn't want to be alone in an empty house. The scary mask on the wall watches and is privy to all their conversation.

For some reason, a burglar came later that night. Fortunately, Nina had installed a burglar alarm after her first unpleasant thief encounter. It made her feel safer to sleep at night. Gordon King again, most likely. It looks like him. What was he going to steal this time? Probably the hot tub. They go after the most expensive things on the lot after all. He doesn't look pleased at all by the blaring alarm. "Somebody make this thing shut up, it's enough to wake the dead!" 

The police come in record time and manage to nab the thief but a nasty scuffle ensues. Will this slim, blonde officer be able to subdue the criminal? It doesn't look hopeful. The ashes of Michael Bachelor watch the debacle while the alarm shrieks shrilly.

Oh no! The burglar got away! Dina is distraught. It was a rude awakening with an unpleasant outcome. Thankfully, I'm pretty sure nothing was stolen. That doesn't make Dina feel any better though. She expects more from the police in the supposedly pleasant neighborhood. Now will she ever feel safe in her own home again? Good thing she's moving out from this area soon.

Out from this area and into Mortimer Goth's place! Dina and Nina drop by to say hello, and bring a delicious looking cake with them. Dina will have a chance to look around what's going to be her new home and familiarize herself with where everything is. Nina just wanted to come along because, well, she baked the cake. 

And now, onto the Goth's part of the story. It all begins with Mortimer and Bella. The two got married under the arch. The happy couple joined their lives together.

Not too long after they moved into their lovely house, Cassandra came along. The big house was now filled with the sounds of a child. Bella and Mortimer were doting parents.

Cassandra accepted the arrival of a baby brother better than they would have thought. She wasn't upset by Alexander. She was even quite fascinated by him and found him entertaining. The age gap between them didn't bother her. 

 

And then Bella went missing. Mortimer wondered where she had gone for many years. He became an old man and she still never turned up. 

 

Cassandra had grown into young adult over the years, and Alexander was a smart young boy now. Cassandra was thinking of getting married but it was hard to decide who to choose. She had several love interests that seemed like good candidates. The handsome Don Lothario or the kind artist Darren Dreamer. Mortimer taught Alex everything he knew. He may have been an older parent but with age comes wisdom and he passed on a lot of knowledge to the intelligent boy. Alex followed in his sister's footsteps with his attire and interests. 

Don worked his charm on the Gothic Cassandra but Mortimer wasn't too fond of him. Cassandra seemed smitten though, so much so that she was considering marriage to the man. Don had such a way with words and he was so charming.

 

Mortimer sat down with his family for dinner one night and confessed he had been seeing someone that put the magic back into his life. He told them about Dina and how much he loved her, stating that he had made a decision and was going to propose. Cassandra and Alexander wanted their dad to be happy. They always still set a place for their missing mother but it was pretty clear now that she was probably never coming back.

Mortimer invited Dina Caliente over to the Goth mansion. She turned up looking svelte and sexy in her low cut black dress. Mortimer was happy to see her. 

Mortimer hadn't lost his charm and ability to romance the love of his life. He remembered kissing Bella this same way in the past. It looked like he still had it.

 

Mortimer wasted no time in proposing. He was already an elder and he wasn't sure how much time he had left, so he wanted to marry now. If this was his one last chance at happiness, he wasn't going to miss it. 

 

Dina accepted happily and the pair were married straight away. 

Mortimer felt so giddy that he broke into song on the piano while Dina danced out her joy and sang along. 

 

Mortimer doted on his new lady, treating her like a queen. He even made a healthy salad for her lunch because he knew she was conscious about her weight. He thought of everything he could do to make her happy because she made him so happy after so many years of loss and sadness. 

Alexander didn't cause any trouble for Dina although he would never accept her as a new mum. He instead continued his usual activities like chess and reading. Even at night when he was ready to go to bed he'd still make time to practice the game and review chess moves. His logic skill was very high. He may have had to sit on a stack of books to reach the board but he was an excellent player and smarter than his age.

Mortimer enjoyed having someone warm and soft sleeping in the bed again, like he and Bella once had. It felt good to have a partner in the room he had spent too much lonely time in. Dina was so pretty in her silky nightie. The more he spent time with her, the more he felt that she truly loved him and was not just after his wealth. He didn't believe Dina could be like that. 

Cassandra adopted a cat and spent lots of time caring for it and playing with it. She loved animals, and cats seemed to suit her.  The cat loved its big new home with very comfy furniture and plenty of space to roam or play.

Cassandra doted on her cat like it was her child. She loved her cat so much. She made sure to give it plenty of love and cuddles. 

Then one morning, Dina got sick. She wondered if she could be pregnant. It was the only explanation for the sudden sickness. 

Dina was indeed pregnant and she was very happy about it. She would have an heir. She wanted her child to inherit the family home and fortune. Dina tried to eat healthy for most of her pregnancy but she gave in to cravings for junk food quite often. It tasted so good. Her belly quickly grew and she soon found the only clothes she could fit into weren't as stylish as her usual wardrobe. But it didn't matter. She was sure she could lose the baby weight after the child was born. After everyone ate a meal she would often go to the kitchen to grab extra snacks. It might not have been easy to notice but in the background Darren Dreamer sat at the table, joining the family meal. He had been coming over more and more often until eventually Cassandra asked him to move in. It seems she had made her decision. Darren was who she would marry.   

Other changes were happening too. Alexander became a teen after dinner that night, it was his last day as a child.

And his first day as a teen. Alexander was surprised at how much bigger he was. He would change his outfit later to suit his tastes more.

Cassandra loved Darren Dreamer and she asked him to marry her. 

She also made good on her promise of letting him use the telescope on the roof of the house. It was a very powerful one that cost a lot of money. 

Dina's pregnancy was progressing well. And Darren got used to living life in the mansion, even comfortable enough to cook dinner in his pajamas. 

For some reason, the gardener had been slacking off so Daren helped around the house too, pulling weeds and trimming shrubs. The family cemetery in the back plot reminded him of his former wife, Darleen. He was sure Dirk would look after her grave.

One day, Cassandra developed a sudden illness and spent a lot of time vomiting. Meanwhile Dina had taken over Alexander's old kiddy room and Alex had moved out. Dina thought it was a good space for the nursery.

Then one day Dina went into labour. It happened right in the living room. They were going to need that nursery very soon. 

The new baby arrived, a boy with Mortimer's lighter skin tone. Just like Alexander. Cassandra suddenly realised why she had been throwing up, shocked that she didn't think of it sooner. She also realised that there might be trouble brewing in future. Her step mother just gave her a step-sibling, who might take over the family mansion and funds one day. Her new half brother was tiny now but he'd grow up fast.

Not long after the new baby was welcomed into the house, Cassandra started to show signs of her own pregnancy. She popped into her maternity clothes, surprised that they were quite tactful and matched her taste for classic colours. She enjoyed watching her belly grow, wondering what her and Darren's child would look like. 

Dina fed her little boy in the kitchen, while Mortimer happily chatted to his daughter about her half brother and his new grandchild that was soon to arrive.

Mortimer's second son was so tiny, and he had brown eyebrows. His hair was going to be brown which was interesting because Mortimer's was black and Dina's was blonde. He might have got it from Dina's father, who had brown hair.

Darren wanted to learn how to invent things, so he set up a work station inside the house. Maybe he would make toys for the children. 

Dina set up the nursery in Alex's old room, sleeping in the boy's bed and tending to her new baby. She was too tired to care about changing the bedding. 

Cassandra was playing a game of red hands with her dad one day, her new husband Darren watching while he ate breakfast. 

And that's when it happened, the grim reaper appeared to welcome her dad into his afterlife, complete with dancing hula girls. Cassandra complained that they hadn't been able to finish their game.  

After Mortimer's death, Dina talked about how she didn't know how she was going to put the pieces of her life back together but that they were all a part of the same jigsaw that was family and they would help each other put things back together even with her love gone. She sprang back surprisingly fast after losing Mortimer. She said it was because she had to be strong for her son and because she was soon to be a step-grandmother.

The stress of losing her dad made Cassandra go into labour early and she went to her bedroom. 

She welcomed a healthy son with his father's complexion. 

And with everything that happened, it shocked everyone when Darren turned into an elder one night after putting their new baby in his crib. Darren was a senior now and he wanted to make the most of whatever time he had left. Their son shared the nursery with Dina's baby, since it was already set up and there wasn't really anywhere else to keep them.

 Dina was good at changing dirty diapers at any time of day or night.

 

Cassandra had her father buried in the Goth's family cemetery and he came out one night to show her he was not as gone as it seemed. 

Sooner than ever, Dina's little boy aged up into a toddler on his birthday, with an explosion of pastel rainbow confetti. He was a cute toddler wearing a pair of short-alls and a blue shirt. The blogger has forgotten his name, plus the name of the cat and his new nephew. She will plunge recklessly ahead so she can finish this part and play more of the video game.   

The new toddler in the household got to eat some sugar filled birthday cake and have a nice big bottle of formula. He's going to be the uncle to Cassandra and Darren's new son. What a strange mixed up family this has turned out to be. Next chapter will focus on the Burbs, but when we come back to the Goths to see how their lives play out, I'll have names!
