The Sims 2 Stories Begin

Hi there,

I know I probably have no followers but I don't care. I always wanted to make stories with the different neighborhoods in the Sims 2 game and never quite managed to. But I dug out the old games, got them all working (My OS is Windows 7, which is probs why), and despite a couple of video and graphics glitches, they're still really fun to play. I was up till 3am last night playing them. Lol.

I started with the first Sims 2 town I ever played when the games were new. And that is Pleasantview. I'm going to explore each family in the town and write about their lives. I realised a bit late that I didn't take enough snapshots during game play, so I'll try to do better in future. For now I'll just use what I've got.

First family: The Pleasant Family.

Daniel and Mary Sue Pleasant seem to have the perfect life. A nice house, good jobs, friends and two lovely girls. Only, under the surface there's all sorts of tension and stuff going on. Things aren't as pleasant as they look at first glance. Lilith and Angela are as different as chalk and cheese, so they're always fighting and don't get along. Daniel is a Casanova who wants more romance in his life, I guess he got bored of his wife and wanted to spice things up. And Mary Sue is just trying to do the best she can and hold everything together, pretending it's all okay. So right from the start this family is fun to play. There's lots of drama.

In the beginning, it looks like Mary Sue and Daniel had a good relationship, even getting married in a nice wedding ceremony.

Not too long after that, along came the twins! Two girls, both redheads, named Angela and Lilith.

The girls grew up fast, making friends and wishes on their birthdays.

Mary Sue and Daniel always fought a lot as they were growing up, and the twins fought just as much as their parents. The older they got, the more the gap between them seemed to grow. Two completely different personalities, they just couldn't find enough similarities to get along. Angela was a grade A student, prim and perfect and always trying to do her best. She was making sure she had a bright future ahead of her, not like her lazy, slacker sister with her bad attitude and goth girl attire. Lilith on the other hand, hated her stuck up, goody two shoes sister, her flowery dresses and her healthy living approach to life. She didn't care too much about school. Her family had enough money to make sure she'd live comfortably even if she didn't achieve high grades. So while Angela was out the back patio, jogging and exercising to have the perfect body and health, Lilith was content to sit in a chair and do nothing, pretending to ignore the yelling of their parents in the house behind. After all, why bother trying so hard to get somewhere in life when clearly you could have everything in life (perfect house, nice car, family, good jobs etc.) and still be miserable? Lilith didn't see the point.

Angela's room was disgustingly pink and girly. She spent her time productively and kept her room as neat and nice as her personal appearance. She'd chat with her friends from school or do her homework. Her bed was always neatly made.

Lilith's room on the other hand was like a dark little dungeon. The walls were cold grey stone, and the place had some sort of gloomy vibe to it. Angela had no idea what sort of things Lilith did in that room. Probably write depressing poetry and conduct dark rituals. At that particular moment, Lilith was thinking about the rumors going around school. The ones saying her sister had a crush on some dropkick guy who was in with the wrong crowd. Ha, that would be hilarious. Her perfect sister. Why did good girls always go for bad boys? She doubted it was true though.
The girl's personalities were reflected in their rooms. Angela finished her homework early, as usual, and lay back on her bed while she thought about her future. She pondered her goals and dreams and what she wanted in life. She also thought about boys, one boy in particular. He didn't have the best reputation in school. But Angela thought that was just life being hard on him. With her help, she was sure she could save him and give him a better life. Yes. He just needed someone like her.

The next day, the twins went to school, and Mary Sue went to work. The house maid turned up, right on time. She was rather pretty, Daniel had noticed, and her uniform made her look very cute. Well, more than cute, downright sexy. Her name was Kaylnn Langerak and Daniel had been interested in her for a while. He saw the opportunity to have some romantic fun.

Kaylnn walked up the neat path to the front door, ready for another day of cleaning for the Pleasant's. She knew Daniel would be home and she was glad. She'd been interested in him for a while and was kind of hoping they could do something fun together.

The house maid cleaned the house in no time and soon it was all done, leaving her free. She didn't have anything else that she wanted to do, so she asked if Daniel wanted to hang out with her for a while. He of course said yes and soon the two of them were dancing together and laughing, enjoying themselves.

Things predictably got a little more intimate and the two escaped to the bedroom to talk and relax.

Which pretty soon turned to cuddling and kissing, which turned into more. They both felt the thrill and excitement of the possibility of getting caught, but getting away with their activities at the same time.
The pair had their fun and were soon grinning as they lay in bed together, enjoying the afterglow of their activities. They were congratulating themselves on being so sneaky while Mary Sue was at work. This was good. This could become a regular thing. They both thought they would do this again. They thought they had gotten away with it.

Until Mary Sue unexpectedly came home from work after being fired from her job! She walked straight into the bedroom to see her husband cheating on her with the maid! There was yelling, there was screaming. Mary Sue couldn't believe what was happening. She put her head in her hands. As she felt her entire world crumbling around her, her awful husband apologised to the maid, saying he was sure they could work all this out.

Mary Sue saw red. She slapped Daniel hard. Of course they couldn't work this out, she yelled. In fact, if Daniel wanted to work things out with the maid, he could jolly well do it on his own. Kaylynn stood and watched, frozen, unsure what to do.

Mary Sue told Daniel to get out, along with the maid, and never show his face to her again.
She told him to go be with his play toy, maybe go visit the Caliente sisters. But this was the last straw, there would be no coming back from this. Mary Sue declared that they were through and their marriage was over. Kaylynn, still in shock and a bit scared of the angry wife, turned to look for her clothes.

Daniel didn't think things would come to this. He never intended on getting caught. Now everything was ruined, it had all just blown up in his face! He couldn't handle reality and swayed as he felt the world spinning around him. His now ex wife collapsed to the floor, crying and babbling, apparently having some sort of breakdown. It was all his fault.

Kaylynn stood awkwardly, asking them both if there was anything she could do to help. She kept apologizing to them, over and over. She explained it was just a bit of fun and that she was sorry. But it was too late, the damage had already been done.

Mary Sue recovered enough to get to her feet. She waited for Kaylnn to hastily throw her clothes back on, then instantly fired her, telling her she would never work for her ever again. The maid left, and Mary Sue went back inside, not sure what to do now.

She decided numbly that she would start making dinner for when the girls get home. Something she always did. Mechanically going about her usual daily routine. Of course, her mind was so distracted with painful thoughts and feelings, she didn't pay attention to the oven timer going off and it went up in flames. Great, just what she needs, something else to make this day worse.

Mary Sue managed to extinguish the fire with their fire extinguisher and pick out the charred remains of the meal. Outside she could hear the honking of the bus horn as it pulled up, dropping off the girls from their day at school. Mary Sue felt cold dread in her stomach. How was she going to tell them what happened? How would they react? Lilith was already acting out over the years and Angela was affected too, struggling to overachieve in her life. Would they be happy the relationship was over? Sad? Angry? Mary Sue was worried for them both. She didn't know how to tell them.

Lilith walked up the path to the front door, seeing her father get into his red car. She wondered where he was going at this time of day. Dinner was almost ready around now. (Although she could smell burning so maybe not today). Maybe he had to go to work. Angela had a different feeling. She watched from the bus window as her father put a box of his belongings in the back seat and got into the driver's side. He wasn't coming back.

Mary Sue was panicking. She had lost her job and she had a mortgage and bills to pay. She had to pay for her girl's clothes, food and school fees. She had had a successful career and now she had nothing. Cracking under pressure, she went outside on a random whim and began begging passers by for spare change, shaking an empty tin and calling out. The twins ignored their mother's hysterical behaviour and instead walked inside.

Where they immediately had a fight, which was a pretty common occurrence. The two fought about everything. Lilith had invited her boyfriend over, a nice guy named Dirk who's father was becoming a well known artist. Angela slapped Lilith for saying bad things about her boyfriend, Dustin, at school today and the two argued back and forth, while Dirk awkwardly tried to help calm them down and sort out their argument. They argued about their parents' relationship, they said nasty things to each other and they blamed each other for all sorts of stuff. Dirk eventually gave up and left, but promised to come back and see Lilith the next day.

Which he did. The next day was a Saturday, thankfully. So Dirk and Lilith could spend time together and have some fun, forgetting about what had happened last night. Lilith was glad for the distraction and company, since she was feeling pretty torn about her parents' split. She wasn't sure if she was sad, but she definitely wasn't happy either. She pretended not to care as hard as she could.

With her focus on her sweet, attentive boyfriend, Lilith felt happy and in love. She pushed away the memory of her sister's words from last night about Lilith being a bad influence on him. Dirk loved her. There was no way she was bad for him.

They kissed, hung out on the old swing set and swam in the pool. It was almost summer and the days were getting warmer.

Lilith even made them some dinner later on when it got dark and a bit cold to keep swimming. See, she could look after her man. Angela didn't know nothing. Lilith could make a mean mac n' cheese.

Angela was doing pretty much the same thing as her sister, hanging out with her boyfriend on such a beautiful day. She hugged Dustin, glad to have him here with her, to take her mind off everything that happened. The boy didn't get much affection, so he was always happy to get hugs from her. He knew what it was like to go through tough times, he said, and assured her there was always a way through. "Ange, you're smart. You're gonna go far. Trust me. You will get through this. I'll help you get through it" "Thank you Dustin, I appreciate that. You are so good to me"

They joked around and played, and Angela started feeling better. The two were very much in love. When they were together it was like they forgot about the rest of the world and were happy in their own little bubble. Dustin made her laugh at his jokes, some of them not so clean, while Angela gave him juicy gossip about stuff at school, giving him inside information on people. For some reason he always wanted to know that stuff.

Lilith was still feeling super hungry after working up an appetite swimming all day. So she tried to whip up some more macaroni cheese, only, she was paying attention to Dirk and not the oven timer, and somehow set it on fire. "Damn it! Good thing mum keeps the extinguisher nearby, bloody hell" Lilith shouted, spraying the flames. She was stressed after the food was wrecked. Dirk came over and soothed her, telling her not to worry about it. And they had sandwiches instead.

The two got showered and dressed then cuddled in the living room. Dirk told Lilith he'd visit again soon, and that he'd help her with her late homework so she didn't get in trouble at school next week. Lilith told him she couldn't wait to see him again and thanked him for all the fun they had today.

The house was quiet after the boys left. Lilith sat down at the table to eat a late TV dinner, still hungry. Angela was already in the kitchen, eating the same thing. They made small talk. It felt kind of weird, having dinner alone instead of as a family.

It was going pretty good until Angela started talking about her achievements and how Lilith could get them too if she just applied herself, etc, etc. Lilith tuned out as her sister waffled on, and soon went to bed, tossing the empty dinner tray in the trash. Angela finished a bit of homework and retreated to her room shortly after.

The next morning at breakfast, Angela and Mary Sue were up early. Mary Sue talked about how she would like to have a small holiday. "Maybe I'll go and stay with mum and dad for a few days. Your grandparents just decided to move into town, since they wanted to be closer to me and you girls after the break up" she explained. "It's been a while since I've seen them. Oh! And your aunt, Daniel's sister, Jennifer and her husband and daughter, they live across the street. Jennifer is shocked at what her brother has done"

Angela smiled comfortingly, "You should go visit everyone then. We'll be fine mum. We might not get along that well but we can look after ourselves. You don't have to worry" she encouraged. "Say hi to the family. Sorry I won't be able to come. I have to study for a test today"

So Mary Sue went to see her mother, Coral, and greeted her outside her new, small house with a friendly hug. "Mum, it's good to see you. It's been ages!" "Lovely to see you too, dear. This house might be smaller than the one we had in the country but I think it suits us better. Herb's got a poor hip and it makes it easier for him to move around. Plus it's easier to clean"  "Glad to hear it. So, where is dad?" "He's inside in front of the TV, where he usually is" Coral chuckled.

Mary Sue spent some time talking to her dad and watching TV. It seems Herb had taken a liking to cooking shows recently and was learning some new recipes. Mary Sue explained about setting the kitchen on fire, and Herb laughed, saying the same thing happened to him.

The two talked in the kitchen, catching up. They had a lot to talk about and Mary Sue explained everything that happened with Daniel and the maid, her lost job, and the twins. They had a good long talk.
Coral thought it would be nice to get everyone together so she called her son to come over. The family congregated in the tiny living room of the house, talking and catching up some more. Coral had also invited Brandi Broke, who was Dustin's mother. Mary Sue thought she seemed like a nice person. She learned that she lived in a small trailer home nearby, and that she had two sons, plus another on the way. They didn't have much money but Brandi made ends meet.

Mary Sue wondered how her mother and father were still in a relationship. Herb had similar romantic intentions as Daniel and yet Coral and him had stayed together for many years. Mary Sue wondered if she just didn't try hard enough. The truth was, sometimes Coral and Herb had their fights as well. Herb "I'm just saying, I'm not in the mood" "You always were when we were younger"

Jennifer and John had moved here from the city but they seemed to all be happy. It looked like Jennifer was different from her brother Daniel. And their daughter Lucy seemed like a very sweet little girl. Mary Sue was glad to see that at least things worked out for them. She went home feeling a little better.

Mary Sue returned home after a few days. Back at home, Angela and Lilith were having breakfast. They seemed to be getting along for once.

Summer was finally here so the three ladies played in the pool that day. Everyone felt fitter for having some exercise. And they enjoyed each other's company. There wasn't the usual tension around Mary Sue that used to always be there when Daniel was with them. And they all had fun.

Angela announced that she had got a job and she left for work that afternoon. Now that Mary Sue was unemployed, the smart girl wanted to find a way to bring in some income for the family. Of course, their mother praised her for that, which only made Lilith jealous.

Days passed, and soon Mary Sue's birthday came around. The girls made her a cake. They made sure to put plenty of candles on it.

Mary Sue had invited Coral over. Coral got out of the swimming pool and came to cheer for her daughter's age transition. Mary Sue made a wish that she could be happier than before. Angela and Lilith cheered and clapped.

Mary Sue spun into confetti and presto! She was now an elder. She felt a bit more stooped over than before. She may have been older but she was certainly wiser and she was going to make sure she enjoyed the rest of her life.

Soon it was Angela and Lilith's turn to age up as well. Mary Sue bought cakes. The girls gathered at the table to blow out their candles.

Dustin was attending the birthday too. Dirk was busy and couldn't come. Mary Sue wondered what kind of future he and Angela would have in store. His mother was a nice woman, Mary Sue comforted herself with the fact that he surely had a good upbringing. Lilith impatiently waited to eat her cake.

Angela thought of a wish, and soon both girls blew out the candles. With a spin and a puff of confetti, the twins became young adults! Mary Sue had high hopes for them both.

Of course the first thing they wanted to do was get into pajamas and comfy clothes and watch a movie together.

The next day, Angela surprised no one when she told them she was moving out. She left her childhood home and headed out to rent a cheap house in town.

Where she will go from here is anyone's guess.  But she will be sure to work hard and see where success will take her.
